Grim Beauty

Watch as the flowers
Crumble to dust
Trees, dried up wood
Metal to rust

Clouds gather round
Oncoming storm
All life
Ceases to form

Dead dry ground
Reaper mowing
Scythe swinging busy
Dead seeds sowing

Everything wilted
Rotting decay
Colour's all gone
Drained to gray

No grass green
No sky blue
Solemn monochrome
What's to do?

This planet is fallen
But what a gracefall fall
I can't help but see
The grim beauty of it all
